I had 2 knee reconstructions!

Member Story Jo! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

.

Jo first walked into our South studio 2 months ago.

In such a short space of time, I am blown away by her progress and determination of Jo!

.

Jo will give everything a go, she knows when she needs to modify and nails our jump board classes!

.

Jo shares a bit about her Pilates journey below 👇🏼

What made you want to start Pilates?

💫 I have two knee replacements, my left ankle is fused and I broke my right ankle in September of last year. It has been pinned and plated, and I have had a gastric bypass. My surgeons have told me to do either pilates or yoga to maintain my strength and flexibility.

Have you exercised much in the past?

💫 I did walking but I needed some kind of exercise with cardio.

Did it take you a while to take the plunge and attend your first class?

💫 It took ages for me to look into starting pilates. Having my physical issues, I did not think that I would ever be able to do a class. But with the amazing staff being able to modify any exercise for me, it has made me comfortable to be able to take this challenge on!

How long have you been coming and how often do you attend per week?

💫 I started off by doing once a week now I try to do it at least three times a week, I have been coming for approx two months.

We try and cater for everybody in our classes, do you find you are able to modify if you need?

💫 If I can't modify anything the instructors are amazing in helping me modify any exercise.

.

Thank you for sharing your story Jo! We look forward to seeing you improve and grow stronger each week! 💙

Do you have any advice for anyone thinking of starting Pilates but might be a little nervous?

💫 Try a class and be open to talking to the staff they are understanding regarding operations and or injuries. You won't know until you try it

.

Thank you for sharing and inspiring us every day!.
