Debbie's Pilates Journey

FROM BREAST CANCER to PILATES ADDICT!

I have been a member of Pilates Haus for just over 2 years now, joining in 2021.

Before joining Pilates Haus, I had become a bit of a couch potato, after many years of enjoying competitive netball and going to the gym.

Once that had all ended and I was just doing the walking and a little swimming, but it was time to become more active. After hearing such good feedback about Pilates Haus from others decided to join.

Reformer Pilates gives me “my time “ to relax the mind of what has been going on during the day.

can come home and can enjoy the rest of the evening, it helps with my sleeping pattern and also with my weight and strength.

I am also a breast cancer survivor from 2012 diagnosis, seems a lifetime ago, now being on the other side from cancer!.

After the treatments (chemo and radiation therapy) I am busy making sure that I enjoy and participate in life.

I have enjoyed 3 overseas holidays, weekends away and lots of great fine dining experiences.

Being on the other side has made the most important people, my wonderful supportive family and close friends, even more important.

They were the group that got me through the dark times in the 6 months of cancer treatments.

If you are thinking of joining Pilates Haus, I say “do it”

Not only the health benefits, physical and mentally, there is a great mixture of people that are also there for the same reason.

Age is no barrier, everyone is inclusive and always up for a chat and the coffee reward some days.

Finally, to Rayna and all the team at Pilates Haus “thank you” for making the sometimes gruelling classes enjoyable and fun and a happy experience for all attending.
