MEET RAYNA - OWNER

I have been teaching Yoga and Pilates throughout the Illawarra for over 15 years.

I love imparting my skills and knowledge to the community and seeing not only their physique transform and improvements with mental health,  but also seeing their confidence grow and bodies move more functionally.

As a busy single mum of 2 young boys, I know how important it is to book in time for yourself - attending daily classes helps me fill up my own cup to be present and have more physical and mental energy for my family. I know that Pilates has helped me become so much stronger and more confident, and I love that I can now help others achieve the same.

My dream was to open a boutique studio, a beautiful space with all the extra touches, a place where locals could come and instantly feel relaxed, comfortable and welcome. Pilates Haus is the fruition of this dream. With 3 locations Central, South, and North, each offers beautiful quality furnishing, clean and crisp interiors and unique personal touches. Our studios are designed to feel like your second home.

With high-quality Align Pilates Reformers in all studios, each class will feel like you have your own personal trainer.

Our professional experienced instructors tailor each class to suit and personal attention is given to every member.

I look forward to welcoming you to our little sanctuary soon!

  • What is Pilates?
Pilates is a system of mind-body conditioning that was created by German, Joseph Hubert Pilates in the early 20th century. Joseph Pilates created exercises which are performed using either a floor mat or a variety of specialised equipment, including the reformer. Pilates will teach you body awareness and healthy posture whilst enhancing physical strength, flexibility and co-ordination. Aside from the physical benefits it can reduce stress, improve mental focus and boost your sense of well-being. Pilates offers a solution for everybody - from those with restricted mobility through to elite athletes. No matter what your age or fitness level, Pilates can help you.
  • Is Pilates and Yoga suitable for everyone?
Yes, Pilates and Yoga is suitable for everybody. At Pilates Haus, we offer small group classes, exercises can be modified to suit your individual needs. We believe it is never too late to invest in yourself and welcome beginners of all ages. We offer 1:1, 2:1 sessions, group and corporate privates if you feel you would like a more personalized experience. If you’d like to discuss whether Pilates and Yoga is suitable for you please call us on 0432 163 589 or email hello@pilateshaus.com.au
  • Is Pilates and Yoga safe during pregnancy?
Yes. Pilates and Yoga can be a very safe way to prepare your body for, and during pregnancy. Provided you have been practicing regularly you can most likely continue to attend Level 1 Reformer, Stretch + Strength Reformer and Yoga throughout your entire pregnancy. We may ask you to obtain medical clearance. We recommend consulting with your health care professional first and always let your instructor know at the start of your class so they can provide any modifications as needed. Our Level 2 are not suitable for new prenatal clients with no Pilates experience. However we recommend you do a few of our Level 1 + Stretch and Strength classes or a private sessions first if you are a beginner, then join our Level 2 classes with modifications. Dynamic Reformer is not suitable for pregnancy.
  • How can Pilates help me?
As the inventor of Pilates, Joseph Pilates, famously said “You will feel better in 10 sessions, look better in 20 session, and have a completely new body in 30 sessions”. Pilates is a high intensity, low impact workout focussing on strengthening and muscle conditioning in a safe and effective way. Pilates has many benefits from helping people who suffer from poor posture, back pain, weak pelvic floor and tight muscles to really toning and sculpting the body and results are visible in a short amount of time. We recommend 3 classes a week to see and feel the results.
  • Can men do Pilates?
ABSOLUTLEY! Did you know the Pilates Reformer machine was designed by a bloke ?! YES Joseph Pilates.. Pilates has a certain stigma that it's "only for women" BUT pilates reformer has so many benefits both both sexes. Males in particular can benefit from balancing out the muscle groups and is a perfect addition to compliment your current training. Men traditionally can suffer from tight muscles and a weaker core, pilates reformer can help by lengthening and strengthening muscles you didn't even know you had while stretching and improving overall flexibility - and you use your abdominals in nearly every exercise, so goodbye to that niggly back pain and hunchy shoulders - pilates is GREAT for your posture. We will focus more on upper body and may use heavier weights during your class.
  • Where should I start?
